How to Read an IPA Similarity Report
A similarity report is a technical reference, not an App Store review decision. Use it to find repeated elements that can be explained or improved.
1. Common comparison dimensions
Reports may compare Mach-O binary structure, resources, metadata, third-party SDKs and duplicate files. Each dimension represents a different source of similarity.
2. Review unusually high results
Start with dimensions that stand out. Determine whether similarity comes from a shared SDK, template resources, reused assets or core implementation.
3. Act on the findings
Remove unused resources and duplicate files, update reused visual and text assets, and review unnecessary SDKs. Reassess the product when core behavior is substantially similar.
4. Use reports responsibly
Record the build, date and changes, then compare again. Final review outcomes depend on platform rules, app quality and the specific review process.
